Pinup photography is a lot of fun. When I shoot it, I aim to have my subject look sexy as well as strong, confident, powerful, and seductive. All of those in varying degrees depending on the specific mood of the shoot. I also aim to bring out the unique beauty in each of my subjects rather than conform to any beauty standards. When Deanna Deadly was passing close by, Auxiliary Magazine featured her as the August/September 2013 Issue PinUp. I shot this in my studio with a constructed set to give the impression of a location without too much distraction. Last year I worked with retro inspired clothing boutique Cats Like Us to shoot this series of photographs for new advertisements and promo materials. Cats Like Us has a brick and mortar shop in Tonawanda, New York a suburb of Buffalo and a successful website shop. Every time we shoot a new series of advertising photos we aim to get a good variety of shots so they have several options for printed postcards and flyers, magazine and event program advertisements, and online advertisements. The lovely and talented shop owner Julie Ann, one half of the great duo behind this boutique, is the face of their company and models the fun wears they sell.
